The silica-enhanced compound that makes up the tire's internal structure allows for better grip on dry surfaces. The radial shoulder grooves are superb at helping the tire with braking and cornering. Lateral shoulder grooves and unique circumferential groove design allow for far more efficient water removal, lessening the chance of hydroplaning at high speeds. While the Scorpion ATR isn't a heavy-duty off-road tire, it performs remarkably well for the class of tire it's in. The interlocking independent tread blocks offer superior grip and traction on all types of terrain, including grass, dirt, rock, and sand. The ride is as comfortable on the highway as any other road tire, although it doesn't work so well in snow and ice.
