General Tire is an American tire manufacturer founded in Akron, Ohio in 1915. Founders William Francis O'Neil and Winfred E. Fouse initially received funding from O'Neil's father when the company was conceived. Over time, General Tire diversified its products to include holdings in tires, rubber compounds, rocketry, aeronautics, and even real estate! Although General Tire initially started out manufacturing repair materials, the company branched out into high end tire manufacturing in 1916. By 1955, the company had expanded into creating Original Equipment (OE) for major automobile manufacturers. General Tire has over 100 years of experience in the automotive industry with reliable products that can conquer uncharted territories or cruise smoothly down urban streets.
